Behind the Project: Containment, Structure, And Care at Enaex

The Challenge

Enaex’s site handles ammonium nitrate and other process materials — meaning any structural or containment failure isn’t just a maintenance issue, it’s a safety and environmental one. The work had to be done around live plant operations, under strict site SHE (safety, health, environment) requirements, with corrosion, chemical exposure, and restricted access all part of the daily reality.

The Work

AN Bundwall Restoration The bunded area used for ammonium nitrate containment had reached the point where sections of the slab needed to come out entirely. Our team carried out controlled demolition of the defective bund slab, prepared the exposed base and concrete edges, supported soil remediation and contaminated material handling, and reinstated reinforcement, concrete, and the chemical-resistant containment interface — along with repairs to the steel components at the interface. The project ran from June 2025 to April 2026.

Process Plant Structural Steel & Access Repairs Corrosion and chemical exposure had taken a toll on access platforms, handrails, kick plates, and support brackets across the process area. We repaired and replaced the affected structural steel — angles, channels, flat bar, base plates — using S275/S355 sections and carbon steel plate matched to the original specification, with every weld visually inspected before coating touch-up.

Environmental Containment & Remediation Support Alongside the structural work, our team supported environmental remediation directly: establishing controlled work areas, safely removing affected material, preparing and reinstating bund and containment surfaces, repairing steel interfaces and edge protection, and managing waste segregation — all without compromising the site’s environmental controls.
